Bianca Casady aka Red Bone Slim Vs. Itself

The Voodoo-EROS Cultural Committee is pleased to present RED BONE SLIM VS. ITSELF: An Exhibition of Drawings. From the elusive visionairre Red Bone Slim comes a world of colorings, sound, and video revealed in full plumage; an efficacious journey into manhood. Imbued with dreamy rainbow filled landscapes and supposed self-portraits, his cosmic reveries house an array of objects, manimals, and diabolical iconography.

The drawings trespass through themes of gender/race disphoria and familial roles to the meditative psychadelia of possession states and third eye travel.

Red Bone Slim’s work can be seen on the album sleeves of both CocoRosie’s La Maison de Mon Reve and Noah’s Ark as well as Vooodoo-EROS’s compilation The Enlightened Family. Her drawings and poetry have been printed in Magnet, Intro, Sofa, Frankie, Chronic Art, and Riot magazines and her video art featured on the French-German television program "Tracks on Arte."

Slim’s past shows include "Yo mire un garza mora dandole combate a un rio", a group show curated by Devendra Banhart at the Atelier Cardenas Bellanger in Paris, September 2005 and another at Roth Horowitz in NYC, December 2004; a Video & Sound Exhibition at Foundation Cartier, Paris in October 2004; and an omni-media fashion show entitled “Wall Street Oasis/Beyond Bellvue” at Isa in Brooklyn, October 2001.
