Ted Leo to perform at Callum Robbins benefit show

A benefit concert has been organized in response to the announcement DeSoto Records posted regarding J. Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines, Channels) and Janet Young's son, Callum. The December 15 announcement acknowledged the diagnosis of Type 1 SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) that Callum Robbins recieved late last year. SMA is a genetic motor neuron disease with no cure and little hope for the child affected.

To raise support for the tremendous medical expenses that will follow in Callum's treatment, Bill Barbot of DeSoto Records has posted a link along with the announcement to allow fans and distant friends to provide financial aid. In addition, Ted Leo will make a solo appearance alongside Medications, The Forms and Last Letters at Northsix on Friday, January 26. All proceeds will, according to DeSoto Records, go "directly to J., Janet and Cal." Tickets are available through Ticketweb.
