Mekons rule Chicago with two shows on 10/12

Our best friends the Mekons are inviting you to light up the stage with them at a very special hometown show. Next Friday, October 12, the band will be playing two shows in one night right here in Chicago--the first will be at the Hideout with doors at 7 and then, by way of CTA bus, the second will take place at the Mutiny around 10pm. All proceeds from this whole rigmarole go to Doctors Without Borders. And as the band says, "If it all sounds confusing, that's because it is... god help us all."
But it gets even more exciting than this! Four lucky fans will be chosen to sing the venerable Tom Greenhalgh's parts on select songs, as the man himself has to miss the shows. Think you've got what it takes? Drop an email to themekons@gmail.com, say what song you want to sing (and, if you're smart, it'll be one that Tom sings), and a brief paragraph about why you're ultimately deserving of this great honor. Do you have the guts and the pipes?
